1. Cases are on the rise this weekend.
On Saturday, the cases hit 1009, above 1000 cases once again for the first time in a month and a half. Sunday’s number was slightly lower, at 917, but we can still see that the cases per day are steadily rising.
2. There is a reason for this…
The recent increase in infections is taking place just as the government is easing restrictions in red zones. On top of that, the new variants are spreading faster than the original virus. This is the start of the third wave.
3. You know what else is on the rise? The number of administered vaccine doses
45,745 doses of vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours for a total of 1,222,884 since Dec. 14. However, this doesn’t seem to have an effect on the number of cases.
4. Potentially toxic masks distributed in schools and daycares in Quebec
Grey and blue SNN200642 masks should no longer be used because they contain a potentially toxic material. Some daycare educators had been suspicious of these grey and blue masks for a while because they felt like they were swallowing cat hair while wearing them.
