BY-TAY
Olympic diving is a popular sport held during the International Olympics. It is very popular because of diver”s movements and twists and turns.
Diving was a sport that first made an appearance in the Olympics at the St. Louis Olympics in 1904.
As you can see, they hopped off a wooden board and wore a bulky 1 piece suit for both men and women.
Now, Olympic diving contains at least 4 events in the Olympics; Platform, Springboard, High Dive, Synchronized Platform, and Synchronised Springboard.
Synchronised is when 2 divers do a performance and do the same exact motions in sync.
Olympic diving is when the diver uses a platform or board to jump off of and performs a series of flips, turns, and twists.
The diver is then put into performance categories by judges to determine their final score.
The entrance into the water is put into 1 of the 4 categories with the points to the left.
