Tips for making good smoothies!
By Imagene
Hi this is Imagene!
So, summer is right around the corner. June 1st is tomorrow. And as summer comes closer and closer, so does the heat that it brings with it. Smoothies are an excellent way to cool off at the hottest time of the year. But there are lots of ways to go wrong with it. Here are a few tips and tricks to make sure your smoothies are the best in town!
1. Colors
When making smoothies, try not to mix green and yellow colors with reds and oranges. If you do, it will turn your smoothie an ugly brown color and will make it look a bit unappetizing. So try to stick with either berries or veggies. There are some exceptions, though. It’s ok if you mix pineapple or banana with the berry smoothies. Just try not to mix berries and greens/yellows.
2. Textures
You don’t want your smoothie to get too thick or too runny. If it’s too thick, then it will not go up straws easily and it will probably not pour very well. On the other hand, if it’s too runny, then it will be too runny, and will often not be very flavorful. But don’t worry! You can still fix it. If it’s too runny, put it back in the blender with more frozen fruit or ice cubes, and if it’s too thick, add a liquid of some sort. I personally prefer some sort of juice, or some sort of milk, or water.
3. Allergies
And of course, don’t add any ingredients you are allergic to!
I hope you learned some things about making smoothies! They are really fun to make, and I think you will enjoy the taste.
