The New England, Middle, and Southern Colonies were the first colonies in Northern America. The New England Colonies were made up of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Rhode Island . The Middle Colonies were made up of New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware . The Southern Colonies were made up of Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia. These three areas of land would become what we know as The Thirteen Colonies.
The New England Colonies were made up of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. The New England Colonies’ first colony was the Massachusetts Bay Colony. One of the religions in the New England Colonies was the Great Awakening, which was created by Jonathan Edwards and George Whitefield. It drew Puritans away from cultural practices.
