By Lela S. <3

On the 10th of November, 2021, an African lion at the Singapore Zoo tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus after showing signs of illness, according to faecal samples. In total, nine Asiatic lions at the Night Safari and five African lions from the Singapore Zoo have been isolated within their respective dens. There is currently no evidence that animals play a role in the spread of COVID-19 to humans.
