1. Marshmallow Slime
Ingredients:
- Jumbo Marshmallows
- Powdered Sugar
- Cooking Oil (as needed)
Instructions:
1. Add 1 packet marshmallows to a microwave safe bowl and microwave for 30-sec intervals to melt. You don’t want to overheat them as they will burn!
2. Remove the bowl carefully from the microwave using pot holders as needed. Stir carefully to evenly distribute heat. Heat again if needed.
3. Add powdered sugar to melted marshmallow mixture. This isn’t an exact science but you can add 1/4 cup at a time if you use the whole bag.
4. Mix the marshmallows and powdered sugar thoroughly. Repeat as needed for thickening.
5. Making marshmallow slime with just marshmallows and powdered sugar is going to be a messy experience! You can help to reduce the stickiness with a touch of cooking oil.
6. Eventually, you will need to dig your hands into the bowl when the mixture has cooled sufficiently. A tip is to coat your hands with cooking oil!
2. Starburst Slime
Ingredients:
1 bag starburst candy
Powdered sugar
Coconut or vegetable oil
Instructions:
Unwrap your starburst candy and place one color at a time in a bowl, about 12-15 per bowl.
Add 1 teaspoon coconut oil or cooking oil to each bowl.
Heat 1 bowl in 20-second increments in the microwave, stirring each time until melted. Repeat with each color. 40- 60 seconds should do the trick.
Sprinkle ½ cup powdered sugar onto a smooth surface. Pour each color candy out onto the powdered sugar covered surface. Allow the candy to cool until you are able to touch it comfortable with your hands.
Roll and knead the mixture into powdered sugar, pulling and working it in as you go. You want to spend at least 5 minutes actively working at getting air into it much the way you would when pulling taffy.
REMEMBER: don't eat too much! This is candy, remember?
